An Optimal Train Speed Profile Planning Method for Induction Motor Traction System

Optimizing the operating speed curve of trains without adding new energy storage facilities is essential in energy-saving operation railways. In this paper, we propose an optimal train planning method for driving more efficiently. A refined traction evaluation model induction motor propulsion systems first presented. The proposed considers efficiency at different points and inverter gearbox. Then, energy-efficient profile problem transformed into a multistep decision solved using dynamic programming (DP). To verify effectiveness method, case study was conducted on actual subway line. results obtained indicate that produced by 20% consumption saving compared with operations. Furthermore, comparison genetic algorithm DP better able to satisfy constraints system. Solving onboard controller according enables be driven greater efficiency.
